Role Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Planning Manager to enhance our Programme Management team within the Severn Trent region, offering hybrid working options.


Key Responsibilities:

In this role, you will independently deliver planning services for the Severn Trent Framework, ensuring that both programme and project plans are realistic yet ambitious, consistently monitored, and updated. You will be a key driver in the continuous enhancement of planning activities.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing the planning services function across the business unit's programme of work.
  • Understanding the diverse roles involved in an integrated programme, including design, construction, commissioning, and collaboration with third-party partners.
  • Utilizing planning systems such as Primavera (essential) and Microsoft Project (preferable).
  • Providing comprehensive programme management oversight across individual and grouped projects.
  • Optimizing the programme to achieve the best alignment of cost, revenue, and time while identifying potential efficiencies.
  • Implementing programme management controls, producing integrated work programmes, and monitoring performance against established plans.
  • Conducting resource planning and leveling to ensure optimal project alignment.
  • Demonstrating detailed knowledge of NEC contract and programme requirements.
  • Leading and developing the Planning team through effective line management.
  • Collaborating with digital teams to create 4D plans and rehearsals for improved project delivery.
  • Understanding the impact of planning on Key Performance Indicators and benchmarking.

Experience Required:
The ideal candidate will possess:
  • Experience in the Water/Wastewater Industry (preferred).
  • Background in Civil Engineering, M&E, or Process Industry.
  • A solid understanding of planning skills and programming across a portfolio of projects.
  • Leadership and line management capabilities.
  • Commercial awareness.
