Job Summary

The Bioresources Technical Engineer - Steam will be a key member of the Bioresources Technical Maintenance team at Anglian Water Services. This role requires a strong technical background in mechanical engineering, with a focus on steam raising plant operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to the Bioresources Technicians and the wider team
  • Enhance the performance of the Combined Heat and Power (CHP) and Steam Raising Plant assets
  • Ensure adherence to Health and Safety policies and procedures
  • Assist in reducing operating costs
  • Investigate and implement improvements to deliver quality, legal, and business targets
  • Provide technical expertise to support the Operation and Maintenance (O&M) of CHP and SRP
  • Identify and support the enhancement and performance improvement of CHP/SRP assets

Requirements

  • NVQ Level 2/3 or approved apprenticeship in a mechanical discipline
  • Steam Raising/Boiler Plant experience is desirable but not essential
  • BOAS qualification is desirable
  • Knowledge of Boiler Water Treatment is advantageous
  • Experience of planned preventative maintenance
  • Operational and maintenance experience in CHP, SRP, Gas, or a similar engineering background
  • Technical competence and experience with problem-solving
  • Commercial and light to heavy industry electrical installation and fault-finding beneficial
  • PLC, SCADA, and control system knowledge, system interrogation, and fault-finding beneficial
  • Experience and a strong awareness of Health and Safety and Environmental legislation
  • Decisive and resourceful thinker
  • Someone who is happy working autonomously, often required to use their own initiative
  • Strong communication skills
  • Competent user of IT, such as Microsoft365
  • Flexible approach to work, with out-of-hours standby requirements
  • Full driving license is essential for this role
