Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Band 2 Renal Care Support Assistant to become a vital member of our team at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This role presents a remarkable opportunity to collaborate with a patient-centered team that promotes shared care.

The Renal Unit operates as a dynamic outpatient facility catering to individuals with Kidney Failure. Patients typically visit for treatment multiple times a week, receiving approximately four hours of care on a dialysis machine.

We are in search of individuals who exhibit empathy and kindness, possessing strong communication and observational skills, to provide exceptional patient-focused care in a demanding and fast-paced setting.

The successful candidate will showcase compassion and care while ensuring that patients' needs are met. You will assist and support members of the multidisciplinary team to deliver a high standard of patient-centered care, performing tasks with minimal direct supervision.

This includes preparing the dialysis areas, managing the disposal of dialysis consumables and waste, and restocking the unit daily.

You will be part of a stimulating and supportive work environment, with ample opportunities for professional growth and development.

We encourage anyone interested in this rewarding opportunity to reach out for an informal discussion about the role.
