Indirect Buyer - Manufacturing

SF Recruitment is partnering with a leading global manufacturing business to recruit an Indirect Buyer. This exciting opportunity will allow you to further develop your indirect procurement career within a global market leader.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the plant supply base, evaluating it through a vendor rating process annually.
  • Collaborate with the Finance department to manage supplier risk and ensure the financial health of suppliers.
  • Benchmark spend data to identify opportunities for improvement and optimize costs.
  • Contribute to plant synergies by developing conditions with other buyers to leverage volumes and optimize costs.
  • Manage supply base relationships according to purchasing policy, resolving issues with suppliers.
  • Lead negotiations with suppliers to ensure fair competition.
  • Prepare sourcing recommendations and present them in sourcing.
  • Manage plant contracts and implement global contracts managed by the lead buyer.
  • Define purchasing strategies for commodities, identifying market opportunities and key drivers.
  • Develop the supply base for commodities and manage relationships with key players.
  • Drive RFQs and propose sourcing choices to plant representatives and Purchasing management.
  • Deliver and commit to savings for the scope of work.
  • Negotiate contracts to achieve business objectives in terms of costs, quality, delivery, and flexibility.
Skillset Requirements:
  • Demonstrable experience in indirect/services procurement.
  • Ability to manage strategic procurement activities, including supplier selection, contract negotiation, and benchmarking.
  • Good knowledge of MRP systems.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders at both local and group levels, comfortable in a complex stakeholder environment.
