This position is pivotal for overseeing the daily financial activities of a UK statutory entity, which is part of a larger international organization.


As a vital member of a compact finance team, this role demands a dedicated and detail-oriented finance expert who thrives in a dynamic setting and is eager to enhance processes and reporting methodologies.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closures, adhering to regulatory standards and conducting thorough reconciliations.
  • Prepare financial reports for internal stakeholders and external parties.
  • Manage cash flow, including forecasting and liquidity planning.
  • Coordinate and oversee external financial audits in collaboration with the UK Finance Manager.
  • Lead the finance administration team, focusing on coaching and professional development.
  • Authorize all financial transactions, encompassing expenses, accounts payable, and receivables.
  • Oversee credit management, including customer terms, credit limits, and collections.
  • Handle tax declarations, including income statements and VAT compliance.
  • Ensure statutory reporting is completed as required.
  • Drive the development and enhancement of finance routines and processes, including reporting and analysis.
  • Collaborate closely with business units to streamline P&L and financial flows to support growth.
  • Maintain close communication with the Finance team at headquarters.
  • Establish and uphold sound accounting practices, policies, and procedures.
HR & Payroll Responsibilities:

  • Administer and process monthly payroll efficiently.
  • Track and record employee absences and vacation for external accounting purposes.
  • Manage insurance and pension scheme administration.
  • Oversee employee benefits and healthcare scheme management.
  • Assist the Global Legal team with insurance renewals in the UK.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of five years' experience in a finance supervisory capacity.
  • Recognized finance qualification or equivalent extensive experience.
  • Familiarity with tier 1 ERP systems is preferred.
  • Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong understanding of UK GAAP.
  • Experience in an international corporate environment is advantageous.
  • Background in manufacturing is a plus.
  • Some exposure to Payroll/HR functions is desirable.
  • Flexible working arrangements available by agreement, with a minimum of three days in the office.
