Our neurorehabilitation services are designed to assist individuals in various settings, including correctional facilities, where we focus on supporting adult males within the criminal justice framework.

Key Responsibilities

Role Description:

This position is supervised by a Principal Psychologist and involves close collaboration with the NSW project manager and support personnel to ensure effective service delivery. The role is integral to Brainkind's Policy & Social Change Team, dedicated to making neurorehabilitation accessible. Responsibilities include:

  • Working independently within a structured service delivery model to reduce re-offending and enhance safety.
  • Managing a diverse caseload of individuals with a history of brain injuries, under clinical supervision.
  • Administering assessments to identify needs and develop tailored Individual Support Plans (ISPs).
  • Collaborating with healthcare teams to align ISPs with existing treatment goals.
  • Delivering psychosocial interventions focused on the effects of brain injury.
  • Engaging with external services to facilitate effective support and advocacy for service users.
  • Providing educational resources about brain injuries and substance misuse to enhance awareness.

Qualifications and Skills

Essential Requirements:

  • A minimum of an upper second-class degree in psychology.
  • Understanding of the challenges faced by individuals with psychological issues or disabilities.
  • Experience working with individuals with complex needs.
  • Proficiency in delivering one-on-one behavioral interventions.
  • Ability to collect and analyze data effectively.
  • Strong communication skills, particularly in sensitive contexts.
  • Willingness to work in a correctional environment and adhere to security protocols.
