The Role: Senior Director, Channel 5 Streaming Technology

We are seeking a highly experienced streaming professional to join our Product Technology & Operations leadership team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, commercially driven product technology environment alongside other technology specialists and supplier partners.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of technology professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Support solutions managers in the delivery of platform solutions.
  • Provide strategic direction for Channel 5's streaming technology infrastructure and roadmap.
  • Manage relationships with key technology vendors and partners.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of new streaming features and functionalities.
  • Ensure the highest levels of service quality, security, and performance for our streaming platform.

Qualifications:

  • Deep understanding of VOD workflows and OTT delivery, including video encoding/transcoding, streaming protocols, and DRM/content security schemes.
  • Extensive knowledge of the streaming sector, its evolving technologies, partners, pitfalls, and benefits.
  • Experience with multi-device/multi-platform services and vendors (web/mobile/set-top box/television).
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with a proven ability to manage complex projects.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
