About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Energy and Sustainability Specialist to join our team at McDonald's Corporation. As a key member of our Supply Chain department, you will play a critical role in driving our sustainability agenda and ensuring the long-term commercial success of our business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategies to meet our 2025, 2030, and 2050 sustainability targets, working closely with internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Collaborate with our Energy Consultants to design and deliver an energy roadmap that delivers long-term sustainable value.
  • Procure energy and manage our renewable energy strategy, including power purchase agreements, REGO purchasing, and on-site generation opportunities.
  • Manage suppliers delivering our Full Circle Waste (FCW) initiative, ensuring the transition from current contracts to FCW and meeting targets to recycle all restaurant waste by 2027.
  • Commercially manage FCW, including oversight of material commodity value and return on facility investment as part of supplier contracts.
  • Assess FCW KPIs and supplier performance to embed, amend, or update FCW deliverables.
  • Develop and manage business relationships between McDonald's and its suppliers, providing ongoing continuous improvement, coaching, and support for supplier development.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of sustainable sourcing and working towards CIPS procurement qualification.
  • Experience in FMCG or Retail, with a strong understanding of commercial acumen and stakeholder management.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, with a result-driven approach to meeting goals, targets, and delivering business plan objectives.
  • Strong communication and prioritization skills, with the ability to influence and engage with senior stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated success in managing senior stakeholders, with a strong understanding of interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively influence and engage with Owner/Operators throughout the Company.
