Position Purpose
Department: Service
Reports to: Workshop Controller and Aftersales Manager
Direct Reports: None
Key Responsibilities
This job description is not contractual and may be updated as necessary.
- Maintain high skill levels and stay informed about all technologies used in our vehicle range, attending relevant Master Technician training as required.
- Engage directly with customers regarding any long-term vehicle issues, ensuring that all work is completed thoroughly and followed up until resolved.
- Be well-versed in all manufacturer's technical literature and information bulletins, ensuring this knowledge is disseminated and understood by all technicians. Identify training and development needs within the workshop team.
- Collaborate with the Workshop Controller and Aftersales Manager to ensure quality control of all work performed by the workshop team.
- Work alongside the Workshop Controller to ensure adequate staffing levels in the workshop to meet business demands.
- Conduct regular meetings to document and address any workshop concerns or suggestions.
- Mentor and develop other technicians and apprentice technicians within the workshop.
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe work area and ensure protective clothing is in good condition to uphold the company's image.
Skills & Requirements
Essential Qualifications:
- Relevant City & Guilds, BTEC, or NVQ accreditation.
- Proficiency in numeracy, literacy, and IT.
- Demonstrated energy and enthusiasm.
- Valid UK driving license.
- Professional appearance.
Experience:
- Relevant manufacturer experience and training.
- Previous or current experience as a Master Technician with VAG or premium brands.
