About the Deputy Manager Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Deputy Manager to join our team at the MiChild Group. As a Deputy Manager, you will play a vital role in supporting the Nursery Manager and team in delivering high-quality childcare services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Liaise with the Nursery Manager on a daily basis to provide support and guidance to the team.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to ensure the smooth operation of the nursery.
  • Make decisions on the day-to-day running of the nursery in the absence of the Manager.
  • Follow all administrative procedures and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Be a positive role model and provide guidance and support to other staff members.
  • Assist in the training and development of staff within the nursery.
  • Manage staffing levels and deploy staff as needed to ensure the nursery is fully staffed.
  • Attend meetings as part of the management team and contribute to decision-making.
  • Be flexible with shifts and work arrangements to ensure the nursery is fully staffed at all times.
Requirements
  • Level 3 qualification in childcare or a related field.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Ofsted requirements.
  • Experience of working in a nursery environment and managing a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
