Job Title: Lecturer in Project Management

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lecturer in Project Management to join our team at the Global Banking School. As a Lecturer in Project Management, you will be responsible for teaching and inspiring students in the principles and practices of construction project management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver comprehensive course materials, including live online learning, to ensure that all learning outcomes are met.
  • Oversee student projects and provide guidance to students to prepare them for the rapidly evolving construction industry.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements to ensure that your teaching is relevant and effective.
  • Attend meetings as required to contribute to the decision-making process and develop productive working relationships within the team.
  • Participate in staff development activities and peer observations to enhance your teaching skills.
  • Understand and keep up-to-date with student support to ensure that our students have the full support and guidance they need.
  • Meet clearly defined objectives for student outcomes, student satisfaction, retention, and attendance as part of the GBS performance management programme.
  • Undertake administrative duties as agreed with your line manager.
Essential Skills and Experience:
  • An honours degree in construction management, project management, or equivalent, with qualifications at least Master's level in a relevant subject area and usually holding a PhD or demonstrating equivalent high-level professional experience in the related discipline.
  • A Postgraduate Certificate of Academic Practice or equivalent teaching qualification, or commitment to enrol on a teaching programme during the probationary period and complete within three years, or Fellowship of HEA (or international equivalent).
  • Previous lecturing experience for similar courses, with a track record of teaching construction management with a specific focus on building information modelling (BIM) and digital technologies relevant to construction at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
  • Experience supervising student work and providing support and feedback, with a firm commitment to personal and professional development.
  • Extensive knowledge of relevant subject matter, with excellent communication, interpersonal, and team-working skills.
Desirable Skills and Experience:
  • Knowledge and a track record of teaching construction management with a specific focus on building information modelling (BIM) and digital technologies relevant to construction at undergraduate and postgraduate level, or relevant professional experience.
  • Experience in facilitating computer-aided design workshops, with a full membership of CIOB or an equivalent body.
