Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as an Unqualified Mental Health Assistant - SEMH Needs. As a key member of our support staff, you will work closely with our experienced teachers and therapists to provide individualized support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and SEMH needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with SEN and SEMH needs, promoting their social, emotional, and academic development.
- Assist teachers in delivering core subject material, adapting lessons to meet the needs of students with SEN and SEMH needs.
- Develop and implement strategies to support students with SEMH needs, including behavior management and emotional regulation techniques.
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to supporting students with SEN and SEMH needs.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behavior Support Plans (BSPs) for students with SEN and SEMH needs.
Requirements:
- A graduate with a strong academic record (2:1 or 1st Class degree)
- A passion for working with children and young people, particularly those with SEN and SEMH needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, teachers, and parents
- A 'can-do' attitude, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new situations
- Previous experience working with children and young people, particularly those with SEN and SEMH needs
