PROJECT QUALITY ASSURANCE ENGINEER

LOCATION: EAST YORKSHIRE

We are looking for a dedicated Project Quality Assurance Engineer to contribute to a significant heavy civil engineering initiative in East Yorkshire. The project encompasses various activities including earthworks, pipework, piling, reinforced concrete structures, paving, and drainage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Project Quality Manager in developing, reviewing, and executing the necessary Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), Quality Plans, and all associated quality assurance tasks.
  • Interpret project specifications and effectively communicate requirements to the project team, engaging with clients regarding variations and concessions.
  • Monitor and assess the effectiveness of the Management System, including data analysis, root cause analysis, auditing (corrective and improvement actions), and report generation.
  • Ensure corrective actions following root cause analysis are implemented and resolved promptly.
  • Generate Quality Performance Reports in alignment with Audit Criteria, Objectives/KPIs, and Contractual Requirements.
  • Develop contractual and project-specific quality documentation, including inspection and test plan records, and support the completion of quality documentation packages for installation, completion, and commissioning.
  • Oversee the quality of work performed by subcontractors.
  • Represent Trant Engineering Limited during staged inspections.
  • Review and validate project records/documentation on behalf of Trant Engineering Limited.
  • Evaluate and approve ITPs and Quality Plans.
  • Review Operation and Maintenance manuals to ensure compliance.
  • Identify and resolve non-conformities, including defects.
  • Participate in quality meetings.
  • Comprehend and interpret engineering drawings.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience in Quality Assurance within the construction sector, particularly in heavy civil engineering.
  • Strong report writing and presentation skills.
  • Experience in client-facing roles.
  • Proficient in IT, including MS Office and SharePoint.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Certification as an Internal/Lead Auditor or experience in internal auditing is advantageous but not mandatory.

Educational Requirements:

  • ISO9001 related qualification.
  • CSCS certification.
