Job Title: Junior Technical Buyer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Junior Technical Buyer to join our Supply Chain team at Aston Martin F1 Team. As a Junior Technical Buyer, you will be responsible for procuring components and assemblies required in the manufacture and assembly of a Formula One Car.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Procurement and Expediting: To procure components and assemblies required in the manufacture and assembly of a Formula One Car, ensuring controlled and timely delivery of specified components to the required quality and cost in line with the business demand.
  • Commodity Management: To take ownership of a small number of commodities with support from the wider Procurement team.
  • Supply Chain Communication: To inform relevant stakeholders within the business of any delays or issues within the supply chain, ensuring the ERP system is updated to reflect expected delivery dates.
  • Supplier Management: To ensure suppliers selected can meet all specifications and quality standards defined by AMF1 design.
  • Support to Procurement Team: To support the wider procurement team during peak periods, including but not limited to sending RFQ's and open order reports.
  • Invoice Resolution: To work with Accounts Payable to resolve any invoice queries from orders to ensure payments can be made to suppliers and maintain consistent supply.
  • Departmental KPI's: To demonstrate understanding and adherence to all departmental KPI's, processes & behaviours.
  • Supplier Visits: To support other team members on supplier visits to develop understanding of audit process and build knowledge within the supply chain.
  • Professional Conduct: To work proactively, responsibly, and professionally always, and to respect and comply with the company's reporting structure.

Requirements:

  • Formula One or Similar Procurement Knowledge: Possess some knowledge of Formula One or similar procurement.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Possess good problem-solving skills with a methodical approach to resolving issues.
  • MRP/ERP Systems: Demonstrate a good working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems such as IFS, D365 or similar.
  • Microsoft Suite: Demonstrate a good working knowledge of the Microsoft suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Power BI.
  • Self-Motivation: To be self-motivated and to motivate others to thrive in a challenging environment.
  • Communication Skills: To communicate effectively, positively, and respectfully with all colleagues.
  • Flexibility: To have a flexible attitude and ability to work as part of a team in a demanding and rapidly changing environment.
