Job Summary:

WSN is seeking a highly skilled Database Administrator to join our team. As a Database Administrator, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our databases, providing direct support to all Production, UAT, QA, and Development databases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform database health checks, performance efficiencies, security, database maintenance and patching, backup, restore and recovery, space management, replication, HA and DR, data migration and integration.
  • Enforce data policies and RBAC user access administration.
  • Develop and implement T-SQL scripts to improve business processes and database operations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve database-related issues.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest database technologies and techniques.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, software engineering or equivalent education.
  • 5+ years of experience in a database administrator role.
  • Proficiency in MS SQL Server database management on-prem and on cloud (Azure and/or AWS).
  • Detailed knowledge of SQL Server backup, restore, and log management techniques.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.

Nice To Haves:

  • Experience with SQL Server technologies such as table partitioning, temporal tables, change tracking / change data capture, transactional replication.
  • Experience migrating between database platforms (SQL Server to Azure DB and vice-versa).
  • Working knowledge of SQL Server performance tuning methodologies.
  • Familiarity with Linux, Python, and enterprise job management.
  • Experience in git-based version control workflows.
