Job Title: Lecturer in Social Work

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Lecturer in Social Work to join our team at Oxford Brookes University. As a key member of our School of Psychology, Social Work, and Public Health, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced Social Work Lecturers and colleagues from other disciplines.

About the Role

This is a fixed-term post for two years, and you will be responsible for delivering high-quality Social Work education to prepare students for employment. You will work with Social Work agencies and settings to provide practice-based experiences that are positive for students, and develop your own teaching and learning approaches to meet the diverse academic needs of our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality Social Work education to prepare students for employment
  • Work with Social Work agencies and settings to provide practice-based experiences
  • Develop your own teaching and learning approaches to meet the diverse academic needs of students
  • Provide academic and pastoral support and guidance for students on placement
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A qualification in Social Work or a related discipline
  • Registration with Social Work England
  • Experience of supporting Social Work students in practice learning settings
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • The ability to use information technology to provide effective support and guidance
  • Excellent networking abilities
  • Current subject knowledge relevant to a pre-qualifying Social Work curriculum
