POSITION SUMMARY

As a Software Development Technology Leader at DiverseJobsMatter, you will collaborate with our key clients to identify and prioritize software requirements for enhancement and optimization. Your role will involve crafting strategies to deliver these solutions within our organization and across our software ecosystem.

Our Central Engineering Software team plays a pivotal role in bridging various technologies. You will join a dedicated group of technology managers focused on addressing the increasing demand for software within our technological landscape.

ROLE OVERVIEW:

We are accountable for shaping the roadmap and vision for our software development, configuration, optimization, and product delivery initiatives. Our strategies encompass both new and existing software components that support our product offerings.

We gather use cases and requirements to understand how software solutions can meet the demands of complex systems. Our responsibilities range from engaging with open-source communities to communicating the benefits of open-source software, and creating product plans that ensure successful deployment of our software solutions to partners across various market segments. Our expertise in software communities, development practices, and release methodologies enables us to align the lifecycle of our hardware products with the delivery of comprehensive product solutions.

We work in close collaboration with Project Managers, Architects, Engineering Leads, and Product Managers, both internally and externally. Together, we strive to deliver optimal software solutions for our technology and effectively communicate their value.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assess the entire value chain involving end customers, manufacturers, and designers of hardware, software, and systems, focusing on productization, support, and quality assurance.
  • Identify specific market segment needs and translate them into actionable product plans.
  • Collaborate with internal engineering teams and software vendors to prioritize features and enhancements that address customer requirements.
  • Conduct competitive analysis to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of our solutions compared to competitors.
  • Promote our software offerings within open-source communities and engage customers and sales teams through participation in meetings and training sessions.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Proven experience in creating and managing software requirements, preferably in a software product delivery context, with a strong understanding of validation and quality delivery processes.
  • Excellent communication skills to articulate ideas and collaborate effectively with team members, customers, and suppliers in formulating and implementing strategic plans.
  • Experience in software development, including firmware, operating systems, or application development.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while being an integral part of a local development team and a globally distributed technology management team.
  • Willingness to travel, with up to 25% of the role potentially involving international travel.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • A strong academic background, ideally in a quantitative field, although other graduates with relevant experience will also be considered.
  • Familiarity with the full open-source software development lifecycle and the components of a typical software stack, including non-functional software aspects and integration maturity targets.
  • Experience with software product development and delivery lifecycles.
  • Background in Technical Product Management, Technology Sales, or Technology Marketing.
  • Experience in environments where hardware design and proof-of-concept software development are integrated.
  • Knowledge in defining requirements to achieve quality and optimization objectives.
  • Experience in non-functional areas such as performance and functional safety.

WHAT WE OFFER:

Join us to leverage your engineering expertise to support our technologies and influence millions of devices for years to come.
