About the RoleThe company stands out as a leader in civil engineering and construction services across Ireland and the UK, with significant expertise across various sectors including civil engineering, transport infrastructure, structure steel, power, and ground engineering.
Key Responsibilities- Providing technical guidance, advice, and assurance on all SHEQ matters to support the natural resources, water infrastructure, steel fabrication, and ground engineering arm of the Ireland Business Unit in the UK.
- Maintaining the Safety Management System, Environmental Management System, and Quality Management Systems, ensuring continued compliance with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001.
- Producing monthly statistics, conducting site audits and inspections, and documenting findings.
- Staying up-to-date with changes in safety, health, and environmental legislation and construction industry guidance.
- Supporting Project Management Teams, investigating incidents and non-conformances, and completing necessary report forms.
- Identifying significant safety impacts for work areas and setting up appropriate controls.
- Ensuring all safety and environmental records are kept and readily available.
- Preparing and presenting toolbox talks and monthly safety meetings.
- Liaising with clients and reviewing subcontractor documentation.
- Relevant 3rd-level qualification in health, safety, environmental, and quality.
- Minimum of 3 years relevant experience on civil engineering/construction sites.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with one or more teams.
- Good written and spoken communication abilities.
- Good IT skills with a high attention to detail.
- A flexible and proactive approach.
- Demonstrate leadership skills.
