Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality treatment to patients under the direction of a Consultant Psychiatrist
- Attend Care Programme Approach & Section 117 meetings & mental health review tribunals
- Ensure that medical decisions are implemented as planned
- Audit medical services & ensure compliance with GMC & other professional guidelines
- Uphold policies & procedures and contribute to service governance & development
- Participate in 1:5 On call rota
Requirements
- Experienced at senior level in General Adult inpatient psychiatry
- In-depth knowledge of the English Mental Health Legislation and Mental Capacity Legislation
- An excellent clinical decision maker, with sound judgement & ability to manage risk
- A first-rate communicator who can interview, assess & treat patients & write clear, comprehensive medical notes
- Committed to continued professional development
About Cygnet Hospital Churchill
Cygnet Hospital Churchill is a 57-bed inpatient mental health hospital for men, located in South / Central London. We provide a safe and stabilising environment for men who are experiencing an acute episode of mental illness and require an emergency admission. Our hospital has four wards, including two emergency acute admissions services, one male rehab ward (18 beds) and one interim complex care ward (1 bed).
