Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to become a vital member of our Engineering Department at the 20" Pipe Mill. In this pivotal role, you will contribute significantly to improving our manufacturing efficiency and fulfilling our strategic objectives.
The key responsibilities of the Senior Mechanical Engineer include:
- Collaboration & Coordination: Work alongside the Site Mechanical Engineer to synchronize engineering efforts and implement best practices for ongoing enhancement.
- Maintenance Planning: Formulate and execute a cost-efficient preventative maintenance strategy.
- Innovation & Design: Create, modify, and upgrade plant machinery utilizing the latest technological advancements.
- Project Oversight: Lead projects and offer both technical and managerial support to the mechanical maintenance team.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all engineering tasks adhere to established standards and strategies, including the management of spare parts, contractors, and budgets.

Qualifications
- Experience: A background in mechanical engineering within a high-volume industrial manufacturing setting is preferred.
- Education: A minimum of a 2.1 BEng in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
- Skills: Strong analytical skills, proficiency in computer applications, and exceptional communication abilities are essential.
- Attributes: Capability to manage projects, implement continuous improvement methodologies, and develop risk assessments and safe working practices.
Familiarity with medium pressure hydraulic systems, overhead crane maintenance, and contractor management will be advantageous.
