Procurement Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Buyer to join our supply chain team at Gripple Ltd, a leading manufacturer of innovative products for the construction, agriculture, solar, and infrastructure markets.
Job Summary:The Technical Buyer will be responsible for managing the end-to-end procurement process, from design through to tooling and sampling. This will involve obtaining quotations, conducting research for new components, sourcing and onboarding new suppliers, and improving prices and terms of business with existing suppliers.
Key Responsibilities:- Obtain quotations and achieve best commercial offers possible
- Conduct research for new components and source to material specifications and bespoke engineering drawings
- Sourcing and onboarding new suppliers in line with company values
- Improving prices and terms of business with suppliers and reviewing opportunities to make business savings
- Producing and presenting reports/information sets for both internal and external consumption
- Providing analysis on costs, new and existing, and reviewing cost reduction activities
- Applying a professional and consistent approach to all supplier relationships
- FOLLOWING ALL NECESSARY GOVERNANCE/APPROVALS RELATED TO PROCUREMENT
The ideal candidate will have experience working in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a purchasing team, with familiarity with technical specifications, engineering drawings, and scopes of work. They should have keen attention to detail, strong analytical, numerical, and IT skills, and be able to offer excellent communication and influencing skills.
The candidate should also be able to manage and prioritize tasks to given deadlines, have commercial and financial awareness, and be able to work as part of a team and independently where required.
