Role Overview:

As a Gas Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the effective maintenance of property services through both planned and reactive maintenance, adhering to the company's operational targets regarding budget and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct inspections, diagnose issues, replace components, and perform repairs on heating and hot water systems.
  • Carry out investigations related to fumes.
  • Perform heat loss assessments.
  • Conduct surveys for boiler replacements or system upgrades, including quality checks of completed work.
  • Test and commission various equipment.
  • Execute gas servicing tasks.
  • Test smoke and carbon monoxide alarms.
  • Complete job sheets and daily logs, along with weekly time sheets.
  • Adhere to safe working practices to ensure the safety of both the workforce and the public.
  • Engage with stakeholders to deliver high-quality service and achieve customer satisfaction.
  • Meet planned commitments to clients, ensuring that agreed KPIs and service levels are fulfilled.
  • Provide technical support and guidance.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff.
  • Maintain a high standard of customer service in all interactions.
  • Participate in toolbox talks.
  • Comply with the company's Health & Safety Policy at all times.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
  • Maintain the vehicle in good condition, including regular cleaning and reporting any malfunctions promptly.

Candidate Requirements:

To qualify for the Gas Engineer position, candidates should possess the following:

Qualifications:

  • ACS / Gas Safe certification with relevant experience.
  • CCN1, CPA1, CKR1, HTR1, CENWAT certifications.
  • Knowledge of Energy Efficiency.
  • Familiarity with Unvented Hot Water systems.
  • Experience with Heat Interface Units (HIU).
  • Understanding of Heat Pumps and Gas Fires.
  • Experience with Cylinders and Heat Recovery Units (HRU).

Experience:

  • At least 2 years of experience in gas servicing.
  • Proven experience as a qualified heating/gas service engineer in communal or domestic settings.
  • Ability to utilize and train others in the use of PDA devices.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Ability to build and maintain effective professional relationships with stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency in all aspects of gas systems, including wiring.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Possession of a valid full clean driving license is essential.
