About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our Northern Ireland Operations team as an Assistant Estate Ranger. This is a key role that will involve developing and delivering practical conservation projects within Mourne Park, as well as assisting in data collection and engagement monitoring.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the delivery of community engagement, volunteer programmes, public events, and education projects.
  • Carry out data collection, surveys, research, and information gathering, producing monitoring reports.
  • Build collaborative relationships with internal teams, external stakeholders, contractors, and volunteers.
  • Raise the profile of Mourne Park and engage with visitors to enhance their experience of ancient woodlands and natural green spaces.
Requirements
  • Experience working in land management, preferably in forestry or woodland conservation.
  • Experience leading delivery of practical conservation projects.
  • Supervising volunteers and volunteer groups, with a focus on Health and Safety.
  • Assisting in project delivery, managing deadlines, and prioritizing tasks.
  • Knowledge of wildlife legislation.
  • A proactive attitude, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build effective partnerships.
