Water and Sanitation Specialist

As a vital member of MSF UK, the Water and Sanitation Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring access to clean water and sanitation facilities for vulnerable populations.

This position offers a dynamic and rewarding experience, where you will be involved in various aspects of water resource management, from sourcing potable water to constructing sanitation infrastructure in crisis situations.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will oversee a range of activities aimed at improving health and hygiene standards, including:

  • Leading a team of sanitation workers, hygiene educators, and support staff
  • Identifying and delivering clean water solutions to affected communities
  • Planning and implementing the construction of latrines and sanitation facilities
  • Managing the disposal of medical waste
  • Coordinating hygiene promotion initiatives

Qualifications

  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Water and Sanitation, or a related field
  • Extensive experience in water and sanitation projects
  • Proven ability to manage and mentor team members

  • Willingness to operate in challenging environments
  • Strong adaptability and teamwork skills
  • Capacity to handle stress effectively
  • Ability to provide training and oversight to colleagues
  • Proficiency in English

Language Skills

We are particularly interested in candidates who possess strong skills in French or Arabic , as this will enhance your chances of being selected for our team.
