Job Summary

As a key member of the Andersen James Group Ltd team, the Senior Fire Alarm Commissioning Specialist will be responsible for ensuring the successful commissioning of fire alarm systems and associated equipment. This will involve working closely with the Works department and Project Managers to deliver high-quality solutions that meet the latest regulations and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Commission fire detection and alarm systems in accordance with manufacturers' recommendations and project specifications.
  • Liaise with project engineers and managers to ensure seamless project delivery and effective communication with customers.
  • Carry out all necessary works at customer premises to meet company quality standards.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to allocated engineers to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to complete their tasks.
  • Collaborate with administrators to ensure commitments are met and diary management is up-to-date.
  • Review and implement programming around cause and effect matrices.
  • Develop and diagnose Cause and Effect software for control equipment.
  • Operate all required test equipment and demonstrate a logical approach to system fault diagnosis and rectification.
Requirements
  • Sound knowledge of control and field equipment, including commissioning, fault rectification, and repairs.
  • Understanding of basic building service systems, such as air conditioning and ventilation systems.
  • Comprehensive understanding of fire alarm problems and the ability to recommend changes to practices and processes that may cause false alarms.
  • Completed numerous units of FIA training.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Able to commission fire detection and alarm systems in line with manufacturers' recommendations.
  • Ability to ensure installed drawings tally with finished projects and communicate any variances to project managers.
  • Able to fully test every aspect of installed systems in line with manufacturers' recommendations and project specifications.
  • Able to identify and correctly test and terminate cable ends in accordance with manufacturers' instructions.
  • Able to develop and diagnose Cause and Effect software for control equipment.
  • Able to operate all required test equipment.
