Commercial Gas Engineer
An exciting opportunity has emerged for a skilled Commercial Gas Engineer / HVAC Technician (gas focused) to become part of a prominent facilities management organization operating in the South Coast region.
This position entails traveling throughout the area to service, maintain, and repair various commercial heating systems, along with some air conditioning and other related HVAC equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performing planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and responding to reactive maintenance requests across multiple locations.
- Acting as the primary point of contact for all maintenance activities at your assigned sites.
- Ensuring all technical documentation and compliance records are accurately maintained and current.
- Servicing and repairing a variety of mechanical systems, including boilers, fans, pumps, air handling units (AHUs), and fan coil units (FCUs).
- Adhering to safe working practices concerning both three-phase and single-phase electrical systems.
- Conducting surveys and preparing reports as required by management.
The ideal candidate:
- Should have experience in a similar mobile role, traveling from home to various sites.
- Must possess mechanical HVAC expertise (including pumps and motors).
- Should be capable of engaging directly with clients and on-site management teams.
- Must have the ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
- Should demonstrate a proactive, hands-on approach to work.
- A valid driving license is essential for this mobile position.
Compensation Package:
Base salary of £44, with standby payments totaling £2,535, leading to an overall package of approximately £46,865.70.
Additional benefits include a £2,000 signing bonus, a standard 45-hour workweek from Monday to Friday, callout duties on a 1 in 4 basis, paid travel time, and overtime rates of 1.5x on weekdays and 2x on weekends.
Company vehicle for personal use, private healthcare, life insurance, and 33 days of annual leave are also included.
Qualifications / Experience:
ACS Gas certifications - COCN, CIGA, CORT, ICPN, CDGA, TPCP1, TPCP1A - Essential
Desirable but not mandatory:
City & Guilds 2079 F-Gas Category 1
City & Guilds 17th or 18th Edition
