The SAP Plant Maintenance Specialist will report to the SAP PM Manager and will be part of the Information Systems team. This position is permanent.

Job Purpose:

The SAP Plant Maintenance Specialist is tasked with the administration and upkeep of master data within the SAP Plant Maintenance system. This includes managing data provided by external partners.

Key Responsibilities:

Administer the SAP Plant Maintenance master data related to assets and work management; Establish and modify maintenance schedules; Serve as a liaison for third-party SAP PM inquiries; Define and implement data exchange processes with external entities; Create work orders for various business activities and unique projects; Conduct bulk data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) into SAP PM using both standard and custom bulk load methods; Perform high-volume data extraction utilizing SAP transactions or Structured Query Language (SQL) as needed; Engage in data analysis and cleansing activities; Carry out routine system administration tasks while identifying and documenting new requirements; Audit the system to ensure compliance with data policies, such as appropriate maintenance plans and strategies; Provide technical and business process support to SAP PM users.

Qualifications:

A degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience; At least 2 years of experience in SAP Master Data Management, preferably in Plant Maintenance; Strong understanding of terminology in the electrical distribution or utility asset management sectors; Advanced knowledge of relational databases; Hands-on experience with Structured Query Language (SQL) for data extraction; Familiarity with SAP bulk update transactions or WinShuttle; Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Access, and Power BI; Excellent verbal and written communication skills; A proactive, analytical self-starter dedicated to maintaining high data quality standards.

Nature and Scope:

The Asset Information function is responsible for the development and enhancement of asset databases and geospatial information systems.

The Asset Systems Team primarily manages the configuration and data management within key asset management systems, which are vital for operational activities related to the electrical distribution network.

Specifically, SAP PM serves as the asset and work management register for millions of assets, with inspection and maintenance activities driven by this system. The data captured is crucial for effective business operations, informing investment strategies, asset management, compliance, and reporting.

Reporting to the SAP PM Manager, the SAP Plant Maintenance Specialist plays a critical role in routine system administration, processing data exchanges, and addressing user requests. A technical understanding of SAP PM and the associated data is essential, as is the ability to collaborate with Asset Data Quality Analysts to enhance data accuracy and completeness.

As part of a diverse team, the Specialist will assist in investigating and resolving system and asset-related issues while advising on system enhancements and performance testing to uphold data integrity.
