Our client is seeking a Cost Control Specialist for a contract role.
Contract Duration: 2 years
Location: Glasgow
Work Arrangement: Hybrid

Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will provide essential support to the management team regarding cost management, ensuring timely reporting and assisting the Cost Engineer as necessary.
- Enhance performance standards and technical proficiency through effective communication.
- Assist Project and Programme Managers during Monthly Finance and Delivery Reviews.
- Engage with the Finance team to ensure all necessary documentation is readily available.
- Foster the development of the Cost Engineer.
- Support cost engineering functions by collaborating with Project Managers to deliver accurate forecasts for the project lifecycle.
- Work closely with the Project Planner to ensure forecasts are well-informed and aligned with the overall programme.
- Monitor and track costs and forecasts to maintain and demonstrate ongoing affordability.
- Generate cost reporting outputs promptly for month-end reporting, integrating with relevant internal financial systems.
- Participate in monthly supplier project meetings and manage associated contract administration as needed.
- Process purchase and contract requisitions and handle invoice receipting within the internal system.
- Review invoices and valuations, providing guidance to Project Managers to resolve any invoice discrepancies.
- Oversee costs related to changes and attend change control meetings.
- Support the Cost Engineer's development.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- Strong communication skills to engage effectively with various stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented and organized, with a proven ability to identify, analyze, and resolve issues.
- Exceptional presentation and reporting skills to facilitate cost pre-meetings and month-end reviews.
- Experience working within a comprehensive Project Controls team on complex projects.
- In-depth knowledge of cost engineering functions, cost control, and cost analysis.
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in estimating.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- Chartered status is preferred.
- Relevant professional membership or progress towards it.
- Experience with CEMAR.
- Familiarity with NEC contracts is advantageous.
