Senior Quantity Surveyor Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Laing O'Rourke. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating the financial and contractual aspects of construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and coordinate the preparation and submission of tender documents, including bills of quantities and schedules of rates.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Conduct site inspections and measurements to ensure accurate and timely payment to contractors.
  • Prepare and manage contracts, including drafting and negotiating contract terms and conditions.
  • Monitor and report on project costs, including identifying and mitigating potential cost risks.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve project efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior quantity surveyors and other team members.
Requirements:
  • Degree qualified in a relevant discipline, such as quantity surveying, construction management, or civil engineering.
  • Proven experience in quantity surveying, preferably in a senior role.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, including JCT and NEC.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
