Senior Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Design Engineer to lead the development of innovative solutions to complex technical issues. As a key member of our project team, you will report directly to our Technical Leads and collaborate closely with customers to deliver high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop design solutions based on customer or internally derived requirements, validating and verifying through the design process.
  • Review and check design work and technical reports, providing guidance and direction to less experienced engineers.
  • Carry out technical analysis and investigations, and prepare reports with suggested recommendations to support the resolution of problems and the improvement of engineering capability.
  • Plan, deliver, and monitor assigned projects or work packages, ensuring that requirements are delivered to plan.
  • Populate design development documentation using a Formal Design Review process (FDR) through the stages of:
  1. Requirements & Root Cause Analysis
  2. Developing Candidate Solutions
  3. Candidate down selection and risk reduction
  4. Development for manufacture
  5. Qualification
  6. Concept generation and development of weapons sub systems
Optimize system performance through weight reduction and the use of advanced materials.Requirements:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent presentation and report writing skills.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with colleagues and customers at all levels.
  • Experience with CAD software (ideally PTC Creo).
Desirable Skills:
  • Engineering background in a weapons system or design for military use.
  • Structural and stress analysis skills (MS Excel, Mathcad, FEA).
  • System control and simulation skills (Matlab/Simulink).
  • Hydraulic system design experience.
  • Material selection and manufacturing techniques knowledge.
  • Product Lifecycle Management Tool experience (ideally Teamcenter).
