Specialist SEND Educator - Autism Focus
Full-Time Position

Are you an experienced SEND educator with a passion for teaching primary students with autism? New Directions Holding is collaborating with a specialized primary institution seeking to hire a SEND educator for the upcoming academic year. Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of SEND, particularly in relation to autism spectrum disorders;
  • Organize the classroom and educational materials to foster a conducive learning atmosphere;
  • Design, prepare, and deliver lessons tailored to accommodate diverse student abilities;
  • Engage students through dynamic and creative teaching methods;
  • Maintain classroom discipline and a positive learning environment;
  • Fulfill requirements for assessing and documenting student progress;
  • Coordinate curriculum activities and resources, assisting colleagues in delivering specialized content;
  • Stay informed about curriculum changes and educational developments;
  • Collaborate with colleagues, especially in smaller educational settings.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Possession of Qualified Teacher Status (QTS);
  • Experience in a SEND school or within a SEND class in a mainstream educational setting;
  • In-depth knowledge of SEND principles;
  • Ability to provide professional references;
  • Current DBS Check or willingness to obtain one;
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
