Job Summary:
This is a challenging opportunity for an experienced Analytical Chemist to join our team at SRG as a Laboratory Analyst. As a key member of our Analytical, Calibration, Metallographic and benchtop chemistry teams, you will be responsible for preparing samples for analysis, conducting routine analysis/tests, and ensuring the integrity of the samples and process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sample Preparation: Prepare samples for analysis submitted by approved procedure with due regard to required accuracy, precision, and delivery times.
- Standard Stock Solutions and Calibration Standards: Prepare standard stock solutions and calibration standards as required.
- Sample Disposal and Consumables Management: Ensure Volumetric Flasks of completed Test samples are disposed of appropriately and consumables stocked to minimum levels.
- Routine Analysis/Tests: Carry out some routine analysis/tests on samples.
- ICP-OES Analysis: Prepare samples for ICP-OES analysis by approved procedure with due regard to required accuracy, precision, and delivery times.
- XRF Microfocus Analysis: Analyse material using XRF microfocus.
- Process Optimization: Ensure work is performed at minimum cost by making efficient use of time, equipment, and materials.
Candidate Requirements:
- Education: Bachelors or Masters in Analytical chemistry or Chemical Sciences (or related field)
- Experience: Analytical lab experience essential
- ICP Experience: ICP experience desirable
- Chemistry Skills: Chemistry skills desirable
- Industrial Background: Working on an ICP and supporting bench top chemistry process for preparation of samples for analysis, must have some industrial background in this area from chemicals or pharmaceuticals.
