Job Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Renal Department at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals, a busy and fast-paced department providing patient care across the region. We are seeking individuals who are enthusiastic, forward-thinking, and kind, with a passion for delivering excellent patient care.

Main Duties of the Job

You will be a member of a team of support medical secretaries, providing administrative support to consultants, junior medical staff, and other staff. Your work will cover a wide range of duties, including:

  • Dealing with patient queries and concerns
  • Downloading and typing of clinic and results letters
  • Retrieving information and maintaining accurate records
  • Providing cover for medical secretaries during annual leave and absence

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Good general education to GCSE standard or equivalent
  • Secretarial qualification (RSA or equivalent experience)
  • ECDL or equivalent experience
  • Efficient use of Microsoft Word for Windows
  • Experience of Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and internet
  • Previous secretarial experience
  • Understanding of the role specifically in relation to sensitive information
