Collinson Insurance
Operating as two insurance entities in the UK and Malta, Collinson Insurance specializes in personal lines insurance, generating over £300 million in gross written premiums. Our primary offerings include travel insurance, private medical and dental insurance, as well as specialized products like gadget coverage, warranties, event insurance, and ancillary home and motor products. We maintain strong partnerships with affinity clients such as the Post Office and EasyJet in the UK, and Vhi in Ireland, while also managing a direct-to-consumer brand, Columbus Direct.
Role Overview
The Technical Business Analyst plays a crucial role within our teams, focusing on designing, building, deploying, servicing, and fulfilling our customers' business requirements. This position encompasses a variety of functions that merge traditional business analysis with systems analysis, including defining project scopes, identifying key issues, evaluating potential solutions, and presenting informed recommendations. As active advisors to both our clients and development teams, the responsibilities may also extend to product management, system implementation, data analytics, and customer relationship management.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the strategic technical direction to fulfill the objectives of Collinson's Insurance division.
- Support the development of strategies and roadmaps for business systems within the Insurance division to ensure sustainable long-term benefits.
- Engage with internal and external clients across various functional areas to comprehend essential needs and translate them into new product features and enhancements.
- Conduct thorough business process analysis and document specifications.
- Oversee the rollout of new product features to clients and communicate updates to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Development, QA, and Production Support teams to verify and assist in testing desired functionality changes.
- Ensure data integrity in customer deliverables through rigorous quality reviews prior to release.
- Participate in new customer implementations.
- Identify innovative opportunities using data to address client business challenges.
- Work closely with Development Teams to design and implement new features.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure accurate planning of requirements gathering and analysis tasks within agreed timelines.
- Contribute to regular team meetings to ensure appropriate task management and share key decisions, risks, and issues.
- Support and mentor team members on existing and new processes.
- Provide coverage for team members as necessary.
- In-depth knowledge of general insurance or equivalent experience in a regulated industry, such as financial services.
- Experience with customer-facing platforms, claims management, and data handling solutions.
- Proficient in delivering user stories and acceptance criteria within an Agile framework.
- Customer-centric experience, including customer journey mapping and design thinking.
- Proven track record in process transformation and continuous improvement.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills to unify process, functional, and commercial owners.
- Experience with various delivery models, including Scrum, Kanban, and waterfall.
- Hands-on experience collaborating with engineering development and support teams to identify solutions.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and organizational abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to work effectively with technology services groups and management teams on a global scale.
