Job Title: Chief Electrical Design Engineer
Job Type: Contract
Location: Remote (2 days per fortnight on site)
Hourly Rate: £79.17 (Inside IR35)
Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Chief Electrical Design Engineer to join our team at JAM Recruitment. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and leadership in the design and development of electrical power systems.
Key Responsibilities- Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and support to the engineering team, ensuring that electrical power systems are designed and developed in accordance with industry standards and best practices.
- Design and Development: Develop and maintain electrical power system designs, including power generation, distribution, and protection systems.
- Project Management: Manage projects from concept to completion, ensuring that electrical power systems are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, procurement, and construction, to ensure that electrical power systems are integrated into the overall project scope.
- Technical Documentation: Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, technical reports, and system documentation.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that electrical power systems meet or exceed industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Technical Expertise: Proven experience in electrical power system design and development, including power generation, distribution, and protection systems.
- Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team of engineers.
- Project Management: Proven experience in project management, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong knowledge of electrical power systems, including power generation, distribution, and protection systems.
- Industry Standards: Familiarity with industry standards and best practices, including IEC, IEEE, and ASME.
- Power System Modelling: Experience with power system modelling software, including PSCAD and ETAP.
- Power Electronics: Knowledge of power electronics, including power converters and inverters.
- System Safety: Familiarity with system safety principles and practices, including risk assessment and mitigation.
- Configuration Management: Experience with configuration management, including version control and change management.
