SAW OPERATOR ROLE

People Solutions is seeking a skilled Saw Operator to join our client's team in Bristol.

Job Summary

This is a permanent role offering a competitive salary and a range of benefits, including free parking, canteen facilities, and a company contribution pension.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety protocols at all times
  • Verify material allocated for cutting, including length, width, thickness, spec, alloy, grain direction, and lot number
  • Cut and verify parts to customer required tolerances using tape, micrometer, and caliper instruments
  • Program saw for cutting operation and check first off cut piece and random checks during the sale order
  • Mark each part with hard stamp, grain flow, USD, and lot number
  • Label each part with any required SP requirements
  • Perform daily maintenance checks to metal saw and ensure all cut material is on a fit for purpose pallet or skids for safe packaging
  • Operate fork trucks and jib cranes when required and perform daily safety checks
  • Maintain Quality standards throughout the operational process and assist in process improvements
Requirements
  • Basic mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, division, common fractions, and decimals
  • Experience operating machinery and metal processing
  • Knowledge of a production facility and manufacturing processes
  • Health and safety awareness and experience
Desirable Experience
  • Experience working in a similar role
  • Knowledge of the metal industry
  • Experience using stelplan
