Transportation Assistant

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Driver Attendant to join our team at Lancashire County Council. As a key member of our transportation service, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and comfortable transportation of passengers with disabilities and sensory impairments.
Key Responsibilities- Transport passengers in a safe and caring manner, adhering to all relevant health and safety protocols.
- Provide care duties associated with transport services, including assisting passengers to prepare for journeys and ensuring their safety and comfort while on board.
- Ensure passengers reach their destination safely on group trips, working collaboratively with Passenger Assistants where necessary.
- Operate the vehicle passenger lift to enable passengers to board and alight from the vehicle.
- Ensure the safe application of seatbelts, wheelchair clamps, and straps, as well as other specialist equipment.
- Carry out vehicle checks, fuelling, and cleaning as required by Integrated Transport procedures.
- Complete records as necessary, in accordance with Integrated Transport procedures.
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively as part of a team. You will also require a high level of physical fitness and the ability to lift and move passengers safely.
