Job Summary

J Bandy Consulting is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Developer to join our team. As a Senior Software Developer, you will play a key role in the development of our next generation cloud-agnostic, micro-service network management platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy high-quality software using cutting-edge technologies
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement software architectures
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers
  • Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices
  • Troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, and networks
  • Design and implement Kubernetes clusters and maintain their security
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure using Terraform
  • Support SRE and developer teams in incident detection, response, and remediation
  • Contribute to the development of documentation and runbooks

Requirements

  • 3+ years of industry experience building mission-critical software applications in a collaborative environment
  • Experience with Go, Python, or other modern programming languages, with C++ knowledge a plus
  • 2+ years of experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker + Kubernetes) and confidence operating cloud infrastructures
  • Front-end development experience a plus
  • DevOps skills, especially leveraging open-source tools (Kibana, Prometheus, Grafana) a plus
  • Sound understanding of agile software development best practices, including CI/CD, testing, monitoring, alerting, and documentation
  • Cloud-agnostic experience, with the ability to build and maintain Kubernetes clusters without relying on managed services
  • Prometheus stack (Grafana, Prometheus, alertmanager) experience
  • Kubernetes upgrade and maintenance experience
  • Any logging infrastructure experience
  • Terraform experience
  • Ansible experience
  • Shell/Python scripting experience
  • Gitlab pipelines (or any other CI/CD) experience
