We are currently seeking a skilled Automotive Service Technician to become a part of our team at Listers Volkswagen. The working hours for this role are from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with a requirement to work one Saturday morning every three weeks from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM.

Our compensation packages are among the best in the industry, tailored to reflect the experience and skill level of each candidate.

  • Base salaries range from £32,000 to £45,000.
  • Bonus opportunities and on-target earnings can reach between £37,000 and £48,000.
  • Hourly rates for on-target earnings vary from £17.15 to £22.24.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform servicing, repairs, and diagnostics on a variety of vehicles in the workshop, ensuring that all tasks are completed to the highest standards.
  • Handle electrical and mechanical repairs, including but not limited to suspension, steering, brakes, wheel bearings, driveshafts, exhaust systems, and air conditioning services.
  • Engage in the maintenance and repair of electric and hybrid vehicles, utilizing electronic diagnostic tools to focus on components such as batteries, drive motors, and control systems.
  • Install manufacturer accessories and audio systems as required.
  • Understand and prioritize customer satisfaction and its significance to the business.
  • Be trained to operate additional systems, such as video reporting tools.
  • Complete all service documentation in accordance with manufacturer and brand standards.
  • Collaborate closely with other workshop team members to foster a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing.

Candidate Profile

  • Experience in the automotive industry as a Vehicle Technician, Mechanic, HGV Technician, or similar roles is essential.
  • We welcome applicants from various backgrounds, whether from independent garages, fast-fit centers, car supermarkets, or main dealerships.
  • A minimum of NVQ Level 3 or an equivalent qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair is required.
  • Certification in Electric and Hybrid vehicle technology is advantageous but not mandatory, as comprehensive training will be provided.
  • An MOT License is beneficial but not a requirement.
  • A valid UK Driving License is essential.
  • Demonstrated mechanical and electrical knowledge, along with a commitment to high-quality work, is crucial for success in this role.
