About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional Clinical Lead Psychiatrist to join our team at Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality mental health care to our patients and contributing to the development of our acute care services.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead the mental health care team in assessing and treating patients in an inpatient setting, ensuring timely and effective interventions.
  • Supervise and support the medical team, providing guidance and expertise to ensure the highest standards of care.
  • Collaborate with Intensive teams to provide dedicated lead Consultant input to acute care service coordination, ensuring seamless care pathways.
  • Participate in Clinical Governance and Audit, contributing to the development of best practice and nationally accredited standards.
  • Support the Medical Lead in strategic development, both within the local service and the wider Trust.

Person Specification
  • MB BS or equivalent medical qualification
  • Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment
  • Included on the GMC Specialist Register OR within six months of gaining CCT
  • Approved clinician status OR able to achieve within 3 months of appointment
