Job Opportunity at Jameson Legal

We are seeking an experienced Tech and Data Lawyer to join our team for a 6-month assignment with a leading global financial services firm in Scotland. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technology, data, and intellectual property law, with a minimum of 5 years of post-qualified experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise the business on technology, data, and intellectual property matters across EMEA, providing expert guidance on a wide range of technology laws and requirements.
  • Review, draft, and negotiate technology, market data, professional services, and general services agreements, including tech outsourcing, hardware and software purchases, SaaS transactions, and design and construction agreements.
  • Advise on legal and regulatory changes across tech, data, and outsourcing matters, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant post-qualified experience, preferably gained at a large financial institution, technology company, or notable law firm.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in advising on a breadth of technology, data, IP, and commercial contracts.
  • Exceptional time management skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the capacity to build trust with senior stakeholders.

What We Offer:

The successful Tech and Data Lawyer can expect to work with a highly respected global financial services firm in Scotland, for an initial assignment of 6 months. The assignment will be undertaken on a hybrid basis, with successful individuals required to spend 3 days per week in the Glasgow office.
