We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Registered Manager to lead our Children's Homes team. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of care and support for our young people.
Key Responsibilities:- Foster positive relationships with children and staff, promoting a sense of belonging and well-being.
- Work collaboratively with the wider system of professionals, families, and communities to ensure the best possible outcomes for our young people.
- Lead on the recruitment, selection, induction, supervision, training, development, and support of staff.
- Deputise for the Service Delivery Manager as required, demonstrating leadership and management skills.
- Advocate for the rights and needs of our young people, ensuring their voices are heard and valued.
- Nurture children's ambitions and aspirations, supporting their learning and development both in and out of school.
- Develop and sustain effective working relationships with local agencies and professionals, promoting multi-agency assessment and collaboration.
- Stay up-to-date with local and national developments in children's care, ensuring staff are informed and equipped to provide the best possible support.
- Create a stable and secure environment, where young people feel safe and supported.
- Ensure adherence to all requirements for the safe handling and administration of medication.
- Manage individual and environmental risk assessments, implementing effective risk management plans.
- Manage complex and challenging behaviour in a sensitive and restorative manner.
- Work to reduce the likelihood of children becoming criminalised, promoting positive outcomes and well-being.
- Manage admissions and matching, supporting colleagues in this task.
- Ensure individual care plans are developed, delivered, and evaluated, addressing key identified needs.
- Recent experience as a Registered Manager in a local authority or children's care home.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and internal council systems.
- Excellent people skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with service users, families, carers, and colleagues.
- Education to degree level, plus the NVQ/QCF Level 3 Diploma in Residential Child Care or equivalent qualifications.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
- Valid Enhanced DBS on the update service.
