Job Description:

A leading family business in the FMCG industry is seeking a highly skilled Development Chemist to join their dynamic team. As a key member of the team, you will have the opportunity to manage projects, bring your ideas to the table, and have a real influence on the business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leading the development of new products, including formulation, testing, and launch
• Overseeing and managing projects from concept to launch, ensuring accurate documentation and timely updates
• Presenting projects to key stakeholders, including senior management and clients
• Reviewing project briefs, creating development plans, and addressing requirements such as shelf life determination, production trials, and costing
• Working closely with the Regulatory team to ensure compliance with industry regulations
• Participating in lab activities, including experimentation and testing
• Providing technical support to the Commercial team, including product development and launch
• Assisting the Quality Manager in addressing technical issues, such as out-of-specification results
• Participating in production trials related to development projects
• Ensuring all chemical ingredients meet necessary safety and regulatory requirements
• Working within health and safety guidelines set by the business
• Supporting the Research and Development Manager in driving innovation and product development

Requirements:

• Chemistry degree or relevant subject
• Ability to manage projects, ideally with some project management experience
• Ideal background in FMCG, Healthcare, Biocides, Cosmetics, or Detergents
• Proactive and confident individual capable of dealing with responsibility
