Job Details:

  • Type: Permanent
  • Working Hours: Monday to Friday, between 8am and 5pm
  • Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum
About the Role:

As a Transport Planner, you will be responsible for optimizing logistics and transportation of goods, ensuring compliance with regulations, and enhancing overall operational efficiency. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and optimizing transportation routes to ensure efficient, on-time deliveries while reducing costs and fuel consumption.
  • Overseeing transport operations to ensure adherence to all relevant UK and EU regulations, as well as safety standards.
  • Tracking and evaluating transport expenses, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Leveraging transport management software and telematics systems for real-time tracking, route planning, and optimization.
  • Coordinating with drivers and internal teams to manage delivery schedules and resolve any issues.
  • Reviewing and analyzing transport data to identify trends, improve processes, and generate reports for senior management.
  • Collaborating with Account Managers and other departments to ensure smooth and efficient daily operations.
About You:
  • The ideal candidate will hold a degree or other relevant qualification in Transport Management, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in transport planning or logistics within the haulage industry is essential.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with transport management software.
  • Understanding of UK transport regulations and compliance.
  • Knowledge of sustainability practices in transport.
