We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Critical Care Nurse to join our team as a dedicated educator. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of critical care nursing by providing exceptional mentorship, education, and support to student nurses and new ITU staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Foster a positive and supportive learning environment for student nurses and newly qualified ITU nurses.
  • Develop and deliver engaging educational programs aligned with best practices in critical care nursing.
  • Provide ongoing clinical supervision and guidance to ensure the safe and effective delivery of patient care.
  • Collaborate with university placement staff to facilitate seamless integration of student nurses into the ITU setting.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of critical care education strategies and disseminate information effectively to staff.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to critical care nursing education.
  • Represent the trust at critical care network forums, sharing best practices and promoting collaboration.

Person Specification

Essential Requirements

  • Extensive experience in mentoring student nurses and new ITU nursing staff.
  • Proven ability to develop and present comprehensive educational packages.
  • Proficiency in using computer software applications.
  • Registered Nurse (1st level) with a degree or working towards one.
  • Teaching/assessing qualification.
  • Postgraduate qualification in critical care (Step 2 and 3 competencies).

Desirable Requirements

  • MSc in Nursing or a related field.
  • PGCE or working towards one.
  • Completion of a leadership course.
