About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clerk of Works (Building) to join our client's dynamic team. As a key member of the Estates team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful delivery of various infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular inspections of ongoing and completed works, comparing them with drawings and specifications.
  • Measure and sample building materials to ensure their quality.
  • Collaborate with project teams to identify defects and propose corrective measures.
  • Monitor and report on project progress to Project Managers.
  • Assist in the identification and implementation of safer and more efficient work methods.
  • Oversee contractors' works on site and maintain detailed records.
  • Liaise with various stakeholders, including architects, engineers, contractors, and end users.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety policies, regulations, and building standards.
  • Provide technical and professional advice when necessary.
  • Take individual responsibility for health and safety requirements and ensure full compliance.
Requirements
  • An SVQ Level 3/HNC/Apprenticeship or equivalent in a construction-related subject.
  • Relevant site/contractor supervision or clerk of works experience.
  • Membership with the Institute of Clerks of Works is preferred but not essential.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships.
