Financial Accountant

We are seeking a highly skilled Management Accountant to join our team at Galliford Try. As a key member of our finance function, you will play a crucial role in providing financial support and guidance to our business.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and present management accounts, including P&L and balance sheet reconciliations, to identify variances to budget.
- Manage purchase invoicing and payment runs, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
- Raise and manage sales invoices, cross-checking to contracts where applicable.
- Process VAT and other statutory returns, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Process and reconcile all additional recharges and transactions, maintaining accurate records.
- Provide detailed support on audit queries, taking responsibility for routine items.
- Support financial modelling, providing data and analysis to inform business decisions.
- Prepare monthly or quarterly management accounts, providing insights into business performance.
- Manage monthly invoicing and payment, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
- Perform monthly reconciliations, identifying and resolving any discrepancies.
- Develop and maintain annual budgets, working closely with senior management.
- Maintain high-quality ledgers and underlying data, ensuring accurate and timely information.
- You will have the ability to work independently and autonomously, with a strong attention to detail and ability to raise issues and seek support when needed.
- You will be proactive, taking responsibility for your own work and contributing to the success of the team.
- You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with Project Directors and other stakeholders.
- You will be a part-qualified accountant or newly qualified accountant, or an accountant with suitable experience and qualifications.
- You will have prior experience of preparing management accounts within a finance function or department, with the ability to analyse financial results against budget.
- You will be proficient in Excel and have experience using accounting software packages, with experience with Sage Line being beneficial.
