Senior Test Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Test Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Agile environment, you will be responsible for defining and implementing comprehensive testing strategies for microservices or APIs. Your expertise in test automation, collaboration, analysis, and reporting will be invaluable in ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to our customers and claimants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Cucumber for integration with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Collaborate with developers, QA engineers, and product managers to identify issues and drive resolution.
  • Analyse test results, identify functional & non-functional issues, and provide recommendations.
  • Evaluate and recommend new tools, frameworks, and methodologies to enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior test engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
  • 4+ years of experience in software testing, with a focus on manual testing and test automation.
  • Experience with Java and proficiency in writing and maintaining test automation scripts.
  • Cucumber: Solid experience with Cucumber and BDD (Behaviour-Driven Development) practices.
  • Microservices: Experience in designing, developing, and testing microservices architectures.
  • API Testing: Proficient in testing APIs, including RESTful and SOAP services, focusing on both functional and non-functional testing.
  • Agile Methodologies: Proven experience working in Agile/Scrum environments, collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • CI/CD: Experience integrating performance tests into CI/CD pipelines, using tools like Jenkins, GitLab, or similar.
  • Non-functional skills: A good working knowledge of non-functional skills such as performance, accessibility, and security.
  • Cloud skills & other tools: AWS, Grafana, Splunk.
