Job Title: Justice Professional

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Justice Professional to join our team at Fife Council. As a Justice Professional, you will work intensively with young people between the ages of 16-18 who have been care experienced and are involved in conflict with the law.

Key Responsibilities:

• Adopt a 'young person first' approach, treating each young person in line with their age and stage development.
• Provide individualized, rights-based, and person-centered support to help prevent young people from getting into further conflict with the law.
• Frequent face-to-face contact with young people, focusing primarily on welfare issues.
• Work alongside the young person to provide intensive support, advocating on their behalf to achieve positive outcomes.
• Liaise closely with other professionals to ensure a comprehensive approach to supporting young people.
• Undertake assessments and identify areas of need for intervention.
• Work on a 1:1 basis with young people, with the flexibility to co-facilitate groupwork and work with others to deliver structured activities.
• Respond to crisis situations in a timely manner, reacting to the needs of the young person.

Requirements:

• Experience of working within a social work setting, with a focus on supporting young people in conflict with the law.
• Ability to work flexibly and creatively to support hard-to-reach young people.
• Understanding of barriers experienced by this service user group and how to work with them alongside partner agencies to improve outcomes.
• Ability to communicate and advocate on behalf of young people, working alongside supervising officers and other professionals.
