Packaging Innovation Manager

High Liner Foods is seeking a Packaging Innovation Manager to drive the development of innovative and sustainable packaging solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of packaging science and technology, as well as excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement a packaging innovation pipeline to align with new food product development innovation.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and develop new packaging solutions that meet commercial and production requirements.
  3. Lead discovery phase projects and/or implementation projects where required.
  4. Act as a packaging innovation lead within R&D and wider business while providing a point of contact for external partners.
  5. Identify product and packaging opportunities that will deliver profitable growth in new categories with new consumers.
Requirements
  1. Bachelor's degree in Packaging Science, Packaging Engineering, or related field.
  2. 5+ years consumer packaged goods experience with a proven history of taking new products to market.
  3. Understanding of paper/paperboard, converting, package printing, corrugate, adhesives, pallets and films, equipment/materials interaction, and packaging laboratory test methods.
  4. Experience in consumer driven innovation process, interpreting consumer pain points and translating it to new packaging options.
  5. Computer knowledge and skills – MS project, MS Office.
  6. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal.
  7. Experience with regulations and GMP requirements.
  8. High level of organizational skills, including attention to details, ability to multi-task and capable of managing projects simultaneously.
Working Conditions

This position is located at High Liner Headquarters. The position involves daily or frequent contact with satellite R&D groups, operations, business channel managers, sales, procurement, purchasing, regulatory, and quality assurance managers. It also involves external contact with suppliers. The position requires travel domestically and internationally.
